Pihanalani's Story
Life
I was born on August 9, 1983. To Nanette Napoleon and William Grambusch. I was born on the island of Molokai, in Hawaii. I was born into a family of Hawaiian activist who were involved with the Protect Kaho'olawe 'Ohana and that strongly support some form of Hawaiian Soverignty. I lived in Kawela on the island of Molokai 'till I was around 7 years old, then I moved to Honolulu. When I lived in Honolulu I lived near the University of Hawaii.
When I was around 15 I moved to Round Rock, TX. I graduated from high school there, and then went to Massage School in Austin for about a year. In May of 2002, I moved back to Molokai. In less then a year I got too bored there and moved back to Oahu(where Honolulu is), but lived in Kaneohe. I lived in Kaneohe for 2 years,then Waipio Gentry for about 6 months, and now back on Molokai.
I have been studing the art of Massage Therapy for about 2 years, and am just about ready to become a Licensed Massage Therapist. I will be sitting for the State...Expand for more
Licensing Exam in December('07), finally. I am also studying with the Kalama Foundation on Ancient Hawaiian Spirituality(Ho'omana) and after I am done with that level I can move on to learn Iwi'ula Style Lomilomi. I am anxiously waiting to get to that level. I enjoy these classes very much, it's pretty intresting to me. I attended my Ho'omana Halau(Class) on Maui about once a month for a few days at a time. Sometimes all the Halau get together from all over the world(i.e. Seattle, New York,Big Island, etc.) and we study and learn as one big Halau. I also took up some classes for a business degree and Agriculture, but realized that traditional college settings are not for me.
I have no children. I have one niece from my brother, and my sister is due with a boy on or around December 10th, 2007. I live in a one bedroom house in Kaunakakai on the island of Molokai. I live alone and like it most of the time. I have been in and out of the rooms of recovery- for substance abuse since I was a teen.
